Meet the Photographer

Hi, my name is tera

I’m Tera — mom of four, lifelong athlete, and someone who’s learned to see beauty in the chaos of everyday life. These days, when I’m not leading my powerhouse mortgage team, you’ll usually find me chasing my kids with a camera in hand.

Photography started as a creative outlet, but it quickly became something more — a way to slow down and notice the details that make life so good. I love capturing the moments we often don’t get to see in ourselves.

Through The Open Lens Project, I aim to photograph people and moments as they really are — not perfect or posed, just real. Because those are the shots that stay with you long after the moment’s gone.

The Open Lens Project is something I do purely out of passion — a way to give more people, especially kids, the chance to see themselves through a powerful, confident lens. The photos shared are always free, not because photography shouldn’t be valued — it absolutely should be — but because I believe everyone deserves access to that experience.

Professional photographers pour immense time, skill, and artistry into their work, and I have deep respect for that. This project simply exists alongside that world — as a way to create opportunities for those who might not otherwise step in front of a camera. My hope is that it helps build confidence, connection, and pride in a way that uplifts, not replaces, the incredible work of others in this field.

Those moments remind us who we are and what drives us — the energy and heart that keep us growing and showing up.

And when I’m behind the camera, you get to simply live the moment, knowing it’s being captured for you to hold onto long after it’s gone.
